Located at 19 North Square in Boston’s historic North End, the Paul Revere House offers you an authentic glimpse into Revolutionary War history. As the former late-18th-century residence of American Patriot and Founding Father Paul Revere—who owned the home between 1770 and 1800 and set off on his iconic 1775 midnight ride from this site—it stands today as a National Historic Landmark and the only preserved residence on the Freedom Trail. Operable as a museum, this three-story timber-frame dwelling dates back to around 1680, making it a rare architectural treasure in the city.
When you visit, you will step inside rooms featuring plasterwork, woodwork details, fireplaces, and authentic furniture pieces once owned by the Revere family. Outside in the brick-paved courtyard, you can examine a massive 900-pound bronze bell crafted by Revere himself, surrounded by period-accurate plantings like lungwort and pear trees. The complex also encompasses the adjacent c.
1711 brick Pierce–Hichborn House and an attached visitor center connected by an elevated walkway, giving you a direct connection to early American craftsmanship and Boston's colonial past.
