Taipei Grand Mosque, located in Taipei's Da'an District, is Taiwan's largest and oldest mosque, making it the island's most important Islamic structure. Designed by famous architect Yang Cho-cheng, this historic site offers a captivating look at Taiwan's rich cultural diversity and architectural artistry. When you visit, you will be greeted by striking Islamic architecture featuring a blending of Taiwanese and Central Asian design elements.

Look up at the impressive 15-meter-high greenish-bronze domed roof, which has aged to a verdigris finish over time, framed by two Neo-Byzantine style onion-shaped spires. On either end of the building, two 20-meter-tall grey minarets topped with red necks and spires stand watch. Outside, two Arabian date palm trees adorn the front yard garden.

Step into the expansive main prayer hall to appreciate geometric art on the windowpanes, handmade Persian rugs, elegant chandeliers, and surrounding Neoclassical and Neo-Byzantine style colonnades lined with corbel arches. The mosque also houses administrative offices, a library, a reception hall, and side arcades. Beyond its role as an active place of worship, the site hosts weekend Islamic courses, inter-religious workshops, and student visits, offering a meaningful window into the local community.
