Welcome to the Wire Opera House, locally known as Ópera de Arame, a signature theatre house situated in Curitiba, the capital city of Paraná state in southern Brazil. Recognized as one of the city's major tourist attractions, this remarkable venue sits right in the middle of Parque das Pedreiras, an urban green park. Built on the historical site of a former rock quarry close to Pedreira de Paulo Leminski, it offers you a completely unique setting where nature and architecture blend.

Designed by Domingos Bongestabs, the metallic structure is crafted entirely out of steel tubes weighing a total of 360 tons. Perched directly in the center of a peaceful artificial lake, the theatre is reached via a walkway that takes you over the water. Conceived in 1992 to provide an innovative outdoor perspective for musical performances, the venue accommodates up to 2,400 spectators.

You will want to visit to admire how this structural marvel was assembled in just 75 days, opening its doors on March 18, 1992, before undergoing several updates through 2006. It stands as an iconic must-see stop during your Brazilian journey.
