Located at the northern end of Schleißheimer Straße in Munich's Hasenbergl district, Goldschmiedplatz is a 2.31-hectare multifunctional urban space named after the 14th-century Goldschmied founding family. Originally a combined train and bus stop, this green space now serves as a lively resident meeting point and activity hub. When you visit, you'll experience a site rich in cultural history along the historic visual axis, which once served as part of the princely route where Bavarian electors traveled by carriage between Schleissheim Palace and the Munich Residence.
From Goldschmiedplatz, looking back down this axis reveals a clear view of the towers of the Munich Frauenkirche, located 10 kilometers away. Beyond its historical connections, the square borders the massive Panzerwiese heath area and offers plenty to explore. In the center sits the Blauer Punkt, a 25 m2 managed tram house with a roofed former stop that hosts regular flea markets and local get-togethers.
You can check out the Hasenbergl Monument commemorating 18th-century electoral hunts, admire a sculpture by Hanns Goebl, or relax by the community garden. The surrounding park also features a climbing playground, barbecue spot, viewing platform, large skate park, summer curling track, boules court, chess fields, volleyball court, and table tennis.
