The concert hall originally opened in August 1998, followed by the full complex inauguration in March 2000. In August 2000, workers completed the main auditorium with a mechanical organ built in the French-Romantic tradition, which debuted during the Lucerne Festival under the theme 'Metamorphoses'. Today, the venue serves as the central location for the annual Lucerne Festival while hosting various major cultural events.
