Located at 501 Bear Creek Road in Colorado Springs, Colorado, Bear Creek Cañon Park offers an inviting escape into a high-country landscape. If you are looking to explore local history and nature, this park is built on land originally donated by General William Jackson Palmer as part of a generous 1,270-acre gift to the city. Historically, the area held great significance: starting in 1873, the only trail leading up to the Pikes Peak Signal Station ran through Bear Creek Cañon.

That original 17-mile route stretched past Seven Lakes, Jones Park, and the Lake House at Lake Morraine, beginning in Manitou Springs. Today, you can visit the park to enjoy its rugged surroundings, relax in the dedicated picnic area equipped with picnic tables, or set off on adventure. Bear Creek Cañon Park features steep trails specifically suited for hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding.

Additionally, a trail positioned at the western edge of the nearby Bear Creek Regional Park conveniently connects directly into this high-country terrain, making it a wonderful stop to experience the outdoors and appreciate Colorado Springs' rich historical roots.
