Heineken Experience 🇳🇱

Situated in Amsterdam, the Heineken Experience is a former brewery that now operates as an official visitor facility dedicated to the globally recognized Dutch pilsner. Erected in 1867, the complex served as the brand's primary manufacturing plant for over a century until operations shifted to a larger, updated factory outside the urban center in 1988. In addition to its corporate significance, the historic property is designated as an Anchor Point along the European Route of Industrial Heritage, a network highlighting prominent industrial sites across the continent.

Public visits began while the site was still an active industrial plant. In 1991, the venue formally established a dedicated guest location originally named the Heineken Treat and Information Centre. Over time, the facility gained widespread popularity among tourists and adopted its current title in 2001. To manage visitor flow and modernize the venue, the site underwent significant renovations, including a year-long expansion completed in late 2008 and a 14-month project finished in late 2022 that updated the building's exterior and enlarged the reception zone to eliminate outdoor queues.

Today, the attraction spans four floors containing historical objects, interactive multimedia displays, and product tastings. Designed to showcase the heritage of the brand and educate guests on the brewing process, the self-guided journey allows visitors to engage with the ingredients and steps involved in making pilsner. Guests can observe physical artifacts, explore high-tech exhibits, and sample beer within the historic industrial setting.
