Notably, it stands as the only parish serving a Polish community in all of Canada east of Montreal.
Situated within the Diocese of Antigonish, the church received recognition as a designated Nova Scotian heritage property in 1984. Although tragic circumstances saw the original structure destroyed by fire in 2014, the parish demonstrated remarkable resilience. The church was thoughtfully rebuilt and officially reopened to visitors and worshippers in 2016, maintaining its esteemed status as a provincially registered heritage property.
