Welcome to Expo Science Park, a historic destination located in the Yuseong District of Daejeon, South Korea. Originally built for the celebrated Taejŏn Expo '93, this memorable site offers you a unique look into South Korea's scientific legacy and modern development. While many original structures, an amusement park, and gardens were gradually removed over time, several iconic landmarks have been carefully preserved due to their profound historic value.
During your visit, you can gaze upon the famous Hanbit Tower, explore the simulation pavilion, and see the site's original international conference room. The surrounding grounds have continually evolved into an active hub of technology, media, and commerce. Today, you will find the Daejeon Convention Center—which expanded with a second building in 2022—alongside the impressive science complex constructed by the Shinsegae consortium.
Additionally, the park grounds host Studio Cube, a major state-run film and drama studio complex opened in 2017, as well as the headquarters complex for the Institute for Basic Science. You can also easily cross the 2nd Expo Bridge, opened in August 2021, which seamlessly connects the science park directly with Seo-gu. It is an intriguing destination to discover Daejeon's heritage and bright future.
