Located in the Bab al-Bahr district within the heart of old Tripoli's Medina, the Gurgi Mosque is a captivating historic monument situated near the Mediterranean Sea coast and the Roman Arch of Marcus Aurelius. Commissioned in 1834 by naval captain Mustafa Gurgi, this Sunni Islam mosque forms part of a historic complex that integrates a prayer hall, a school, and a tomb.

As you step inside, you can admire walls and columns adorned with natural marble, floorings covered in multi-colored tiles, and an impressive interior featuring 15 decorative domes alongside towering marble columns.
