Little Sugar Creek Greenway offers you a vibrant linear park experience right through Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. Stretching for miles along Little Sugar Creek, this restored stream network seamlessly links natural landscapes with urban centers, running from north of uptown Charlotte all the way past the South Carolina state line. As part of both the Cross Charlotte Trail and the Carolina Thread Trail, it transforms what was once a highly polluted stream into an inviting, paved haven for outdoor recreation.

Visit to explore diverse sections that blend natural beauty with bustling city life. Along the highly developed 1.29-mile urban stretch between East 7th Street and Morehead Street, you can stroll past stonework plazas, public art, gardens, fountains, and a clock tower, or pause to admire the bronze statues along the Trail of History. As you head further along the trail, your journey takes you past wetland filtration ponds, through Freedom Park, and into wildlife-rich stretches home to turtles, ducks, herons, hawks, and barred owls.
