Located in Edmonton, Alberta, Louise McKinney Riverfront Park serves as the modern gateway to the North Saskatchewan River valley parks system. Positioned as the closest river valley park to Downtown Edmonton, it offers you convenient access to nature right from the city center, connecting directly to the Hotel Macdonald via the 100 Street Funicular. Revitalized in the 2000s as part of Edmonton's “Ribbons of Green” river valley enhancement initiative, the park features paved paths that lead everywhere across the parks system and link into the Trans Canada Trail system.

When you visit, you can see and explore a variety of features throughout the grounds. Walk along the scenic path inside the Chinese Garden, where you will find a gazebo with an electrical outlet open for public booking. Stroll along the riverfront promenade to utilize a shelter-house featuring a public washroom alongside several other amenities.

If you want to get on the water, the riverfront area features a public dock suitable for canoes and other small boats. You can also walk across the Tawatinâ Bridge over the North Saskatchewan River to access Henrietta Muir Edwards Park and the Edmonton Riverboat attraction.
