Originally founded in 1962 as the Panamanian Institute of Art (Panarte) before becoming the current museum in 1983, MAC Panamá holds the unique distinction of being the only contemporary art museum in the country. Situated in Panama City within the remodeled former Masonic Temple in Ancón, this non-governmental, non-profit institution acts as a vital cultural hub dedicated to promoting creative development and art appreciation.
