Located along the Vistula River in central Warsaw, Poland, the Antonina and Jan Żabiński Municipal Zoological Garden, commonly known as the Warsaw Zoo, offers you a remarkable mix of wildlife and profound history. During World War II, former director Jan Żabiński, his wife Antonina, and their son Ryszard hid over 300 Jews within the zoo premises to save them from the Holocaust—events later featured in the book and film The Zookeeper's Wife.
