If you are exploring the southern coast of Dalian in Liaoning Province, Xinghai Park offers a seaside escape with deep historical roots. Originally established in 1909 by the South Manchuria Railway Company as the "Hoshi-ga-Ura" resort, this spot once featured a golf course, hotel, and bathing beach. Renamed Xinghai Park in 1945, it remains one of Dalian's four major beaches, spanning 150,000 square meters.
When you visit, you will find an 800-meter-long beach perfect for taking in views of the Xinghai Bay Bridge resting offshore. Thrill-seekers can check out the 55-meter-high bungee jumping facility from New Zealand set over the sea. If you prefer a scenic stroll, you can follow the coastal walkway that leads directly to Xinghai Square, or head just to the east of the park to visit the Sunasia Ocean World oceanarium.
