Located just over two miles away from Dalian's Xinghai Square in Liaoning, China, the historic Beijing Street Church offers you a captivating glimpse into the city's complex religious and regional heritage. Originally built in 1914 by the Danish National Church (Evangelical Lutheran Church of Denmark) during Japan's leased territory period, it was first known as Dalian Lutheran Church. Over the decades, the site weathered significant historical shifts, including temporary closure during the Cultural Revolution (1966–1977) when religious activities were suppressed.

Today, Christian worship has restarted under the post-denominational China Christian Council. Officially designated as a Historical Building Protected by Dalian City in 2002, the structure was recently renamed Dalian City Cheng-en Church (literally "Dalian City Receiving Grace Church"), though local residents still affectionately refer to it by its long-standing name, Beijing Street Church. When you visit, you can admire an enduring piece of early 20th-century architecture that once housed the Dalian City offices of the China Christian Council and Three-Self Patriotic Movement Committee before their recent move to May 1 Square.

It stands as a resilient testament to the vibrant history of Protestant missions in northern China.
