Boldino Museum

Step into the world of Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin at the Boldino literary museum-reserve, located within the Pushkin family estate in the village of Bolshoye Boldino, Nizhny Novgorod region. Owned by the Pushkin family for generations before being purchased by the Treasury in 1911 and established as a museum-reserve in 1949, this estate is famously tied to the poet's remarkably fruitful "Boldino autumn" period from September to November 1830. When you visit, you will explore a fully renovated manor house complex—ready since 1990—that features the former bar house where Pushkin lived, a kitchen, household services, and a human.

As you stroll through the centuries-old park, you can walk under the very trees where Pushkin rhymed lines for his poems. The reserve extends beyond the main manor to include the Assumption Church, the grove and estate of Pushkin's son A.A. Pushkin in the village of Lviv (L'vivka), and a charming wooden house hosting a Fairy Living Room packed with children's artwork, a puppet Pushkin ball made of salted dough, and fairy-tale crafts.
