Nestled within the Shakarparian recreational area on Kashmir Highway near the Sports Complex Aabpara and Pakistan-China center, the Rose and Jasmine Garden is a stunning 20,360-square-meter public sanctuary in Islamabad. Originally established in 1948 as the Government Rose Garden—just one year after Pakistan's creation—the garden was later renamed to honor its expanding flora. Today, it operates under the Capital Development Authority and makes a fantastic addition to your itinerary if you are visiting nearby Shakarparian or the Pakistan Monument.
When you step inside, you will discover a rich botanical collection boasting roughly 250 distinct rose varieties alongside about 150 species of jasmine. The grounds also display an array of other colorful flowers and herbs, including vibrant marigolds, petunias, and daisies. It is an ideal spot to visit during spring, when seasonal flower shows are occasionally organized.
In fact, the garden hosted its three-day 44th annual spring flower show in April 2025 alongside the National Horticultural Society of Pakistan.
